Lead .NET Developer
We are recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing, award-winning financial technology business. To protect client confidentiality this advert is anonymous. The role is a senior, hands-on leadership post that combines coding and architecture with team management.
About the role
This is a blended technical and leadership position. Expect to spend around 70% hands-on development and 30% people leadership. You will help shape architecture, own deliverables, and mentor a small team of developers while collaborating with product and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable web applications used by both B2B and B2C customers.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, coach and mentor a development team; run code reviews and support training and development.
* Design, build and maintain web applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET and SQL Server.
* Drive improvements in code quality, testing, CI/CD and deployment workflows.
* Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and estimate delivery.
* Participate in architectural decisions and introduce best-practice tooling and approaches.
* Liaise with product owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery.
Skills & experience
* 5+ years commercial experience with C# and .NET (Core / ASP.NET).
* Proven experience leading or mentoring engineers.
* Strong understanding of software architecture, OOP and REST API design.
* Comfortable with Azure, Git, CI/CD pipelines and unit testing practices.
* Experience with front-end frameworks a plus (e.g., React, Angular, Telerik/Kendo).
* Excellent communicator with a pragmatic, delivery-led mindset.
* Financial services experience is desirable but not essential.
