Overview
The Junior Financial Analyst will provide essential support to the Finance Department by assisting the Senior Financial Analyst in preparing KPIs for two business units, compiling ESG-related data, and performing foundational finance tasks such as accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and data entry. This role will also involve gathering and analyzing operational and cost data for a meat packing manufacturing operation specializing in pizza toppings. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Senior Financial Analyst in preparing weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI reports for two business units.
* Compile and maintain ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data to support sustainability reporting and compliance requirements.
* Prepare and process accounts payable (AP) entries, including vendor invoices and payment runs.
* Assist with accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including posting receipts and reconciling customer accounts.
* Perform data entry and validation for financial and operational information in ERP systems (e.g., Minitor and Traverse).
* Support cost tracking for raw materials, yields, waste, and production variances.
* Assist with inventory tracking, valuation, and reconciliation processes.
* Prepare schedules and reports for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
* Provide data for audit requests and assist with compliance documentation.
* Collaborate with operations, procurement, and sales to gather data for financial analysis.
* Generate downtime and productivity reports for operations review.
* Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline data collection and reporting.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
* 0–2 years of finance or accounting experience (internship/co-op experience an asset).
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
* Familiarity with ERP systems such as Minitor and Traverse is an asset.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Office and production floor environment; exposure to temperature variations in production areas.
* Manual dexterity required to operate a computer and related equipment.
* Interaction with employees across all departments.
* Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
