Position Overview
Cabot are seeking a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Assistant in maintenance operations across our hospitality and golf facilities. This role is vital in ensuring that all guest areas, accommodation, and golf sites are safe, well-maintained, and presented to the highest standard. You will join a small team, respond to urgent maintenance needs, and work collaboratively with operations, housekeeping, and guest services teams.
Core Responsibilities
* Assist in coordinating daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring timely completion of tasks
* Collaborate to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and repair plans
* Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance issues
* Perform or oversee general maintenance work, including basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, appliance repairs and grounds maintenance.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with site systems, boilers, appliances, and other mechanical systems
* Prioritize and respond quickly to urgent repair requests and emergency maintenance situations
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs for equipment and repairs
* Manage maintenance inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper use of tools and equipment
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment
* PAT testing as necessary – training will be provided
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Experience in a busy site maintenance role
* Relevant technical certifications in plumbing, heating and electrical would be advantageous
* Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial property maintenance
* Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to liaise and communicate well and positively at all levels with colleagues and guests
* Knowledge or experience in using Microsoft Office applications
* A flexible and positive approach in a fast moving and changing environment
Working Hours
Days and hours will flex throughout winter and summer with weekend cover on a rota. Work patterns will be organised according to a rota which could be on any day from Monday-Sunday.
