Are you a go-getter who will get stuck in and not shy away from a challenge?
Simply Education is looking for someone for September who is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives. We are recruiting for several institutions in Leicestershire that provide education for children aged 3-11 years old with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and SEMH. The schools believe in helping young people embrace opportunities and use patience, determination, and flexibility to ensure all children reach their full potential. They seek someone to join the team who shares these values and can actively engage with the children, leaving each day feeling accomplished.
The roles are available for both short-term and long-term placements, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to teachers by assisting with lesson planning, preparing classroom materials, and implementing lessons.
2. Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning concepts and provide academic support.
3. Assist with classroom management and behaviour intervention.
4. Communicate regularly with teachers and parents regarding student development.
5. Create a positive and encouraging learning environment for all students.
6. Build and nurture positive relationships with staff and children.
7. Foster an inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidates are:
1. Experience working with SEN in an employed or voluntary setting.
2. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as carpooling students to and from school is required on a rota basis.
3. A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent is desirable.
4. GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above qualification is essential.
5. Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
6. Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
7. A commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
8. A positive and creative approach to meeting pupils’ individual needs.
The key benefits of working with Simply Education are:
1. Your own dedicated consultant with around-the-clock access via phone.
2. Access to our Educational Development Managers who provide free CPD training.
3. Email and SMS confirmation of bookings.
4. £75 refer-a-friend scheme.
5. FREE 2-day teaching assistant course provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to gain experience in SEND/SEMH.
