Being an Explorers Volunteer is a rewarding experience. The role is full of variety, flexibility, and a lot of fun!
From bug hunts and pond dipping to discovering how a river works and why we have canals, from adventure to science, we inspire children and young people about our waterways. We use the waterways as a tool, highlighting their rich biodiversity, heritage, and recreational potential. These areas are used to build life skills, develop wellbeing, and connect children with the great outdoors and nature.
We provide full training and resources for leading groups of children, including several training days and team meetings.
You will have the support of a Learning & Skills Coordinator and fellow volunteers. We reimburse travel costs, supply a uniform, and conduct a full DBS check.
