Job Title: Mental Health Case Worker – Financial & Wellbeing Support Service

Location: Epsom, Ewell and Banstead

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £27,316

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2026 (with possibility of extension)

Project Overview

The free Financial and Wellbeing Support Service in Epsom and Ewell combines mental health support with expert benefits and money advice from Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell (CAEE), funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.


Role Responsibilities

1. Increase financial resilience and independence.
2. Improve overall mental and emotional wellbeing.
3. Reduce stress and anxiety.
4. Enhance engagement with local community and services.
5. Reduce social isolation.
6. Help clients manage finances and wellbeing in the future.


Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with Citizens Advice to support individuals facing financial difficulties related to mental health.
2. Manage a caseload of clients.
3. Work with individuals and carers on mental health and social circumstances.
4. Create person-centered support plans tailored to individual needs.
5. Build relationships with other social wellbeing services for holistic support.
6. Lead as the primary contact in clients' care, coordinating with other organizations.
7. Address practical barriers and facilitate access to services.
8. Provide advice, signposting, and information about local support options.
9. Collect and report monitoring data, including case studies.


Candidate Profile

Minimum 2 years of community experience in mental health and wellbeing, or relevant qualification (e.g., counselling, psychology, social work, Health and Social Care level 3).


Knowledge & Skills

* Teamwork within multidisciplinary settings.
* Understanding of confidentiality, consent, GDPR, and safeguarding.
* Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
* Effective client interaction with professional boundaries.
* Knowledge of mental health issues and community working.
* Ability to manage challenging behaviors and work safely in the community.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, basic Excel).


Organization Overview

A mental health charity supporting Surrey residents since 1994, offering free, accessible services to improve mental and emotional wellbeing for adults 16+.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and a probationary period. It is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).

Experience in mental health, wellbeing, counselling, social work, or related fields is desirable.
