Job Title: Mechanical Completion / Instrument / Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Completion / Instrument / Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support one of our UK projects.
This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK. Mobility and travel to customer sites, along with face-to-face meetings with colleagues, will be expected as required. The role will involve site-based work during the main construction execution phase.
Must be able to pass the HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide electrical and instrumentation controls expertise in site commissioning with demonstrable experience.
* Ensure safety compliance by engaging in Commissioning Permit to Work, Electrical Isolation, and Safety Work Manuals. Contribute to JSA's and Risk Assessments, monitor adherence to procedures, participate in safety walks, and attend toolbox meetings.
* Be familiar with construction and commissioning mechanical completion technology.
* Read and interpret design documentation such as P&IDs, PFDs, and mechanical datasheets.
* Deliver technically correct documentation within schedule.
* Manage and control work site operations.
* Experience in the oil and gas industry is required.
* Have experience with pass/fail criteria on UPS testing (ITIC), generators, switchgear, control narratives, compressor and turbine commissioning/startup.
* Experience with brownfield upgrades or replacement of instrumentation and control projects.
* Dealing with switch rooms, switchboards, distribution boards, lighting, UPS, instruments, cable runs, and control rooms.
* Experience in compressor station and metering is advantageous.
* Knowledge of substations, power systems, protection systems, and harmonics.
* Familiarity with control and measurement systems such as Emerson, Siemens, Swinton, Omni, FlowX, EXI, Honeywell (DCS/Meter suite), PLCs, SCADA systems.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Experience reviewing and approving commissioning and construction works.
* Organization skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a team, supporting and leading others, building trust and respect.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
