WOMEN'STEC - North West Development Coordinator About the Role Charity Jobs NI are delighted to be working in partnership with WOMEN'STEC to recruit for a North West Development Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing WOMEN'STEC's presence and impact across the North West region. Based locally in Derry, you'll help ensure the smooth delivery of training programmes, events, and activities, working collaboratively with programme coordinators and tutors based in Belfast. As the main point of contact for participants, schools, and community partners, you'll support programme delivery, engagement, and recruitment - helping to embed WOMEN'STEC's values and opportunities within the local community. About WOMEN'STEC WOMEN'STEC is Northern Ireland's largest provider of training for women in non-traditional skills. Based in North Belfast, with workshops in Newry and an expanding presence in the North West, WOMEN'STEC works to increase women's confidence, skills, and employment opportunities in sectors where they are underrepresented, including construction, engineering, and IT. The organisation also challenges gender stereotypes through youth and community programmes, encouraging girls and women to explore new pathways and realise their potential. Guided by the values of Inclusion, Equality, Empowerment, and Sustainability, WOMEN'STEC creates supportive spaces for women and girls to learn, connect, and thrive. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the delivery of WOMEN'STEC programmes, courses, and events in the North West region. Liaise with programme coordinators, tutors, and the Resources and Training Manager to organise venues, materials, and resources. Act as the main local contact for programme participants, ensuring high-quality engagement and communication. Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, FE colleges, community organisations, and local industry. Support recruitment and outreach activity for participants across WOMEN'STEC programmes in the region. Represent WOMEN'STEC at local meetings and events to strengthen partnerships. Work with the Communications Officer to promote local activities through social media and networks. Support monitoring and evaluation activities and contribute to annual operational planning. Person Specification Essential Criteria Demonstrable experience coordinating or supporting community-based activity. Strong organisational and logistical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with confidence engaging people from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of the community and voluntary sector in the North West region. Ability to work independently and proactively while remaining a supportive team member. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital communications. Desirable Criteria Experience supporting programmes focused on women, young people, or underrepresented groups. Experience working within school or community education settings. Essential Special Circumstances Full driving licence and willingness to travel within Northern Ireland. Willingness to work unsociable hours when required. Commitment to the values and ethos of WOMEN'STEC, particularly inclusion, equality, empowerment, and sustainability. Salary £30,559 per annum (pro rata) Contract & Working Pattern 28 hours per week (With the working pattern and schedule flexible and negotiable upon successful offer) Initially fixed-term until September 2026, with potential for extension subject to funding Hybrid working: WOMEN'STEC North West workshop and home-based (Derry) Reports to: Head of Operations Benefits 25 days annual leave plus 11 statutory days (pro rata) Pension scheme (6% employer contribution) Benenden Healthcare cover (post-probation) Death in Service Insurance Staff wellbeing initiatives You might currently be working as a Programme Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Community Engagement Coordinator, Regional Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Learning and Skills Coordinator, Education Programme Officer, Events and Programme Coordinator, Participation Officer, or Partnerships Officer - or in another role where you've helped deliver impactful community or education programmes.
