Job Description
People leadership (this is the priority)
1. Set clear goals and hold people to them — fairly and consistently
2. Run regular 1:1s; address underperformance early, before it compounds
3. Build reliable routines: stand-ups, safety walks, weekly reviews where useful
Quality & EHS
4. Own and maintain the QMS; keep ISO 9001 compliance current
5. Run NCR and corrective action processes with genuine ownership and deadlines
6. Act as the responsible manager for site health and safety
7. Maintain risk assessments, SSOWs, training records and environmental monitoring
Facilities & PPM
8. Set up and run the planned preventative maintenance programme
9. Manage contractors; keep the site safe, tidy, and compliant
Logistics oversight
10. Line-manage the Logistics Manager; oversee shipping, documentation, and on-time delivery
11. Track OTIF and cost performance; resolve cross-functional issues with Supply Chain
Order administration & ERP
12. Oversee order acknowledgements, lead times, and invoicing accuracy via the Operations Coordinator
13. Maintain ERP master data integrity (BOMs, routings, parts)
FSC clearance
14. Lead the FSC programme: documentation, controls, and ongoing upkeep
Basic Requirements
Essential:
15. Strong people manager — you set expectations, have difficult conversations, and develop individuals
16. Operational breadth across at least two or three of: Quality/ISO 9001, EHS, Facilities, Logistics, Order Admin
17. Comfortable working hands-on across a wide remit without dropping threads
18. Clear communicator who can bring different teams into a shared rhythm
Desirable:
19. NEBOSH/IOSH, or willingness to work towards it
20. ISO 9001 internal auditor experience
21. ERP competency (Orderwise or Oracle useful)
22. Exposure to export compliance or security clearance programmes
23. Continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
