The Role
As a Full-Time SEN Teacher, you will take responsibility for a small class group with varied needs. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons that are accessible, engaging, and based on personalised learning goals. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants and external specialists to ensure that pupils receive consistent, high-quality support.
This role requires someone who is adaptable, patient, and confident working with children who may present challenging behaviour or require specific communication and sensory approaches.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons to meet pupils’ individual needs and abilities
*
Implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) reviews
*
Use a range of SEN strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, sensory integration, and communication aids (e.g., PECs, Makaton)
*
Work collaboratively with the SENCO, therapists, support staff, and leadership team
*
Create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence and confidence
*
Manage behaviour effectively using nurturing and proactive SEN-specific methods
*
Maintain accurate records on pupil progress, behaviour, and intervention outcomes
*
Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, and whole-school initiatives
*
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
*
Proven experience teaching children with SEN (in mainstream or specialist settings)
*
Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through our agency)
*
Strong understanding of SEN teaching approaches, differentiation, and behaviour support
*
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
*
A caring, calm, and resilient approach to supporting children with additional needs
*
Full-time availability, Monday to Friday
