We are looking for a Network Optimisation Analyst to join Thames Water on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy operational environment, within a high-profile team where contacts are made with multiple stakeholders across the business.
The System Optimisation Analyst is responsible for a geographical & hydraulic system area of the Thames Water potable water system, typically serving hundreds of thousands of properties, who is tasked to use their technical expertise in hydraulic system operations towards achieving key operational and regulatory targets.

What you will be doing as a Network Optimisation Analyst
This role is vital for Thames Water to maintain and improve its status, especially as the business prepares for challenges from Customer Service and Leakage perspectives. Responsibilities include ensuring the reliable operation of assets and the hydraulic system, water quality, leakage management, supporting engineering projects, risk assessments, drafting safe method statements, and managing unplanned events.
* Monitor, investigate and resolve low-pressure issues, complaints, and escalations, understanding areas and developing solutions to individual problems or emerging risks.
* Monitor District Metered Area (DMA) and District Meter (DM) availability, supporting technical resolution of maintenance workstreams.
* Provide technical operational input into engineering and customer-led projects.
* Lead on unplanned emergency events to mitigate adverse effects on customers, supply interruptions, water quality, and brand image.
* Write and assess risk assessments for work impacting the hydraulic system, such as leak repairs and asset operations.
* Support pressure management and information monitoring.
* Ensure activities follow Thames Water Asset Management Procedures and that risk assessments are properly implemented and monitored.
* Assist in analyzing long-term issues like head loss, low flows, and water quality turnovers.
* Formulate operating strategies in conjunction with the water control centre, balancing leakage reduction and customer pressures.
* Evaluate operational data, resolve basic problems, and update hydraulic system schematics.
* Assess and approve new connection or development requests from customers.
What should you bring to the role?
* Thorough understanding of the water industry regulations related to customer satisfaction, leakage, water quality, low pressures, and interruptions, demonstrated through risk assessments.
* Strong communication and management skills for stakeholder negotiation and liaison.
* Good analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with a willingness to learn and develop within Thames Water.
* Full driving license and own transport are desirable due to attendance at various Thames Water offices.
