Temporary Works & Scaffold Design Engineer
Introduction
Based in either Brentwood or Lincoln, working on high profile construction and infrastructure projects in the UK. The role is a permanent hybrid position to support our engineering capabilities and sales team. Key Responsibilities
* Detailed design of specialist temporary access works structures and systems – typically, light frame structures.
* Design and engineering of new products (R&D).
* Compliance checking, including structural analysis, of existing designs and structures.
* Ensuring design work complies to appropriate standards and legislation.
* Manage output to meet customer / other deadlines.
* Liaising with Engineers, Sales Team, and if required, customers to ensure accurate and functional designs are produced.
* Site visits to measure up and discuss client requirements.
* Extracting key information from preliminary drawings by Sales Team for generation of detailed designs.
* Experience in system scaffold design
Key skills, experiences and qualifications
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural design (steel).
* Local construction industry design experience.
* Membership of The Temporary Works Forum (TWf)
* Strong understanding and experience in Temporary Works Design, detailing and installation.
* Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D. Knowledge/ practical use of other systems eg Revit considered.
* Practical use and knowledge of structural modelling software.
* Excellent knowledge of EN Standards pertaining to steel and aluminium structure design.
* Experience with manufacturing steel/aluminium products preferred.
