Shift Patterns: 18.5 hours p/w, Monday/Thursday, Friday
The Role:
Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust at Royal Berkshire Hospital is seeking a passionate Band 7 Sonographer to bring their expertise to its well established and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will function as an effective member of the Ultrasound team, providing a high quality, comprehensive and efficient Ultrasound service to patients and referring clinicians.
What you can add:
Work effectively maintaining own specialist expertise and professional knowledge, sharing knowledge and expertise where required and support the department Lead in ensuring that junior staff are mentored and supported and that the day to day running of the department is in line with policies and procedures.
Use advanced clinical judgement to enable independent decision making and to independently undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging and to formulate and issue clinical reports.
Participate in the identification and development of clinical protocols and strategies relevant to the service.
To assist in training of trainee sonographers and to act as a professional role model for junior staff.
Contribute to risk management process, incident reporting and management and management of complaints and place the patient's experience at the core of service delivery.
What you'll need:
· HCPC Registration as a Sonographer
· BSc Degree in Radiology or equivalent radiographic qualification
· CASE accredited qualification in Medical Ultrasound
· Post Graduate Ultrasound experience
