Dunbia (UK) Dungannon is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead the organisation’s occupational health and safety and wellbeing agenda across the Dungannon site(s). The role focuses on compliance, risk management and fostering a strong safety culture within manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will hold a NEBOSH qualification and have proven H&S management experience, preferably in food manufacturing or an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and continually improve the site health and safety management system in line with ISO 45001, Group standards and current legislation.
* Lead incident, accident investigation, root‑cause analysis and corrective action for all incidents, maintaining accurate records and reporting.
* Define, monitor and report on leading and lagging indicators and H&S KPIs; develop and deliver improvement plans with measurable outcomes.
* Ensure risk assessments are completed and reviewed; deliver the site audit programme and lead preparation for external audits and inspections.
* Lead contractor H&S standards, pre‑qualification, onboarding and monitoring; enforce robust permit‑to‑work/LOTO arrangements for maintenance and project activities.
* Act as the key point of contact for regulatory authorities (e.g. HSENI/HSE) and stakeholders; coordinate site inspections, visits and follow‑up actions.
* Develop, review and test emergency response arrangements (fire, chemical, major incidents), conduct drills, capture learnings and keep plans compliant.
* Provide day‑to‑day support on risk mitigation, safe systems of work, action plans and statutory compliance; partner with HR on occupational health, fitness‑for‑work and employee risk assessments.
* Support delivery of H&S training, ensure completion of mandatory training and promote communication and engagement to strengthen the safety culture.
Qualifications
Essential
* Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience managing health and safety within a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Detailed knowledge of UK and NI Health and Safety legislation.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder‑management skills.
* Proven people‑management experience.
* A relevant third‑level qualification and NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
Desirable
* NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent).
* Knowledge of SMETA and ethical trading standards.
* Previous operational experience within the food manufacturing sector.
* Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards one.
