What’s it all about: Zurich’s Engineer Surveyor workforce is central to our success, acting as the “Face of Zurich” to our client base. You’ll have a fully flexible diary to manage your own client area, broker and develop relationships, and represent Zurich Engineering. You’ll work in a variety of environments and have control over your work/life balance. This role develops mechanical engineering skills within a market-leading engineering inspection provider.
Zurich Engineering is expanding its field-based Engineer Surveyor team and has a vacancy for a North Wales area Lift and Crane Engineer Surveyor.
What will I be doing?
You’ll start with industry-leading, bespoke training and then carry out hands-on statutory inspections, providing expert opinion on a wide range of equipment to help clients comply with legislation and to the standards both we and our clients demand. After inspections, you’ll report back using a rugged laptop and issue electronically to clients, so good IT skills and high literacy are required. You will be an excellent communicator and confident in making sound engineering judgements.
What skills/qualifications will I have?
You will be an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of your discipline and be part of our multi-disciplined inspection team within your geographic area. You will report to a Team Manager and be based from home, with your client base a reasonable travelling distance from your home.
Because this role is SAFed governed, we prefer you to have:
* Ideally a Level 4 qualification (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field; minimum Level 3 – training will be offered to bring you up to competency
* Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship
* Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
* A background in lifts and/or crane equipment would be an advantage, with hands-on experience in manufacturing / repair / maintenance / mechanical / motor trade
* A full valid UK driving licence
* Willingness to work paid overtime
As an inclusive employer we encourage candidates to request reasonable adjustments or practical support during the application process.
What will you get in return?
Zurich offers a wide range of employee benefits to provide flexibility and choice. Benefits include a 12% defined non-contributory pension, annual company bonus, private medical insurance, and the option to buy up to 20 additional days or sell some holiday.
