The Pharmacy Department at Barts Health covers a population of 2.5 million. We are looking for motivated and dynamic pharmacists to join the department at Barts Health to participate in the rotational band 7 pharmacist programme. The programme includes 9-month rotations across the four different sites of Royal London hospital, St Bartholomew’s hospital, Whipps Cross hospital and Newham hospital. You will work closely with medical and nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team on a wide range of medicines optimisation matters, and to ensure standardisation of medicine policies and procedures wherever appropriate. You will also be expected to contribute to the research agenda working with staff across the Pharmacy department and student placements.
Responsibilities
* Deliver quality patient care on wards through medicines optimisation, including assessment of patients’ own drugs, medicines reconciliation, original pack dispensing at ward level, counseling patients about their medicines and coordinating the supply of discharge medication.
* Work with ward-based teams to continuously develop the service while maintaining high standards and achieving best practice to meet the needs of patients and the Trust.
* Carry out dispensary-based responsibilities as part of the role.
* Collaborate with medical and nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team on medicines optimisation and the standardisation of medicine policies and procedures.
* Contribute to the research agenda and collaborate with staff across the Pharmacy department and student placements.
Qualifications
