Job Description:
Position Overview: As the shift manager at Herd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our bespoke burger restaurant. You will work closely with the senior management team to uphold our standards of excellence in customer service, food quality, and team performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of a new dynamic culinary establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Assist the senior management in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory management.
* Customer Experience: Uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries or concerns, and ensuring their dining experience exceeds expectations.
* Team Development: Mentor and support restaurant staff to cultivate a positive work environment, foster teamwork, and uphold company values. Provide guidance and coaching to enhance performance and promote professional growth.
* Quality Control: Maintain rigorous standards for food quality, presentation, and safety. Monitor kitchen processes and service protocols to ensure consistency and adherence to established procedures.
* Financial Management: Assist in managing restaurant finances, including monitoring sales trends, controlling costs, and optimizing profitability. Contribute to budget planning and execute strategies to achieve financial objectives.
* Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns, events, and initiatives to attract new customers and drive repeat business.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and address any issues promptly and effectively.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and efficiency enhancements. Proactively seek feedback from customers and team members to drive continuous refinement of operations and service delivery.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within the restaurant industry, preferably in a fast-paced, casual dining environment.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
* Knowledge of restaurant operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and customer service best practices.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
