A well-established, independent construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing infrastructure team based in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take the lead on major projects and play a key role within a supportive and forward-thinking business.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a consultancy known for its hands‑on approach and technical expertise across the infrastructure sector, including highways, utilities, rail, and civil engineering. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working with a variety of public and private sector clients, helping to deliver cost‑effective solutions on both new build and improvement schemes.
This role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is already chartered or actively working towards MRICS, and who is confident managing complex projects from pre‑contract through to final account. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders are essential.
Responsibilities
* Leading infrastructure projects across various stages of development
* Preparing cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender documentation
* Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Providing strategic cost advice to clients
* Supporting junior team members and contributing to training and development
* Maintaining client relationships and representing the consultancy at meetings
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* MRICS or working towards chartership (preferred)
* Extensive experience in infrastructure projects (highways, civils, rail, or utilities)
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts essential
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects independently
