Description
RES Advisory Services Team is part of our Global Asset Management Team, providing consultancy across all renewable technologies to meet client requirements. We seek an experienced renewables consultant to build and manage this team.
The Advisory Services Manager will develop and lead the Advisory Services team, overseeing client-facing activities across our global AM portfolio, initially focused on Northern Europe with plans to expand regionally.
The team delivers advisory services to existing AM clients and attracts new clients requiring full AM support, potentially introducing clients to other RES departments such as Development, Construction, and O&M.
This role reports to the Director of Operations Support and Advisory Services and collaborates with Asset Managers, Business Development, Operations Support, Finance, and other departments.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead technical, project management, commercial, and customer-facing activities.
* Promote Advisory Services to maximize revenue, focusing on key accounts.
* Expand RES’s market exposure through client engagement, conferences, and events.
* Maintain communication with clients and provide feedback to refine offerings.
* Interpret client needs and communicate goals internally and externally.
* Coordinate delivery of advisory projects, including due diligence, owners engineering, and technical advisory.
* Manage P&L within the Advisory Services Team.
* Align activities with client Value Enhancement Plans to demonstrate RES’s value.
* Support growth and cost reduction targets.
Reporting
* Serve as the primary contact for Advisory Services issues within the Global Asset Management Team.
* Prepare and deliver presentations and reports for stakeholders and clients.
Internal Engagement
* Coordinate resources and ensure contractual and budget compliance.
* Maintain work quality per RES standards.
* Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to meet project timelines and budgets.
* Manage internal relationships to avoid conflicts and support resource sharing.
* Develop proposals for new work.
* Oversee project financial performance.
* Mentor team members and stay updated on technological and regulatory developments.
External Engagement
* Identify client needs and develop proposals following RES stage gate process.
* Attend client meetings and site visits domestically and internationally.
* Participate in conferences to promote RES advisory services.
Qualifications and Experience
* Understanding of renewable energy infrastructure, including wind turbines, energy storage, and solar tech.
* Established industry network.
* Knowledge of project finance and commercial aspects.
* Proven report writing and communication skills in English.
* Strong commercial awareness, project and line management skills.
* Self-motivated with planning and organizational skills.
* Experience managing remote teams, budgets, and client relationships.
* Minimum 7 years in technical consulting within renewables.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Business/Commercial discipline.
* Valid UK driving license.
