About the Role
Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Lewes is seeking innovative Teachers to deliver ESOL to a diverse group of learners. The role involves helping learners build confidence, develop skills, and achieve success within a college environment. We are looking for candidates interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who are keen to explore Prison Education.

* Experience in teaching English as a second language
* Relevant English second language qualification

About HMP Lewes
HMP Lewes is a Category B prison in East Sussex, holding approximately 659 offenders, including adult males and young adults. Established in 1853, it has a rich history and focuses on reducing reoffending through education and vocational training. Courses include Maths, English, ESOL, and more. The prison also features a neurodiverse wing to support offenders with neurodiverse needs.
Educational sessions are held Monday to Thursday from 9am to 11:30am and 2pm to 4:30pm, and on Fridays from 9am to 10:30am. Staff work on-site from 8:15am to 4:45pm, with class sizes typically ranging from 8-12 learners. Access includes limited parking at the prison and additional local area parking.
