SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 6 (Chesterfield)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) during one of the most important stages of their primary education? Tradewind Recruitment is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to work with Year 6 pupils, helping them prepare for SATs and transition confidently to secondary school.
This is an exciting and highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys making a real difference in children's learning and development, especially at this crucial time in their school journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Year 6 pupils with SEND to access the curriculum and prepare for SATs
Helping children develop confidence, organisation, and study skills in the lead-up to assessments
Providing one-to-one or small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
Assisting with emotional and social development to ensure a smooth transition to secondary school
Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement targeted strategies and interventions
What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with additional needs, ideally in primary schools, SEND settings, or similar environments
Strong understanding of how to support children with SEND during high-pressure periods
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learning support
Availability to work at least 3 days per week
No formal TA qualification required
