Job Summary:
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking qualified and HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists to undertake statutory assessments for children and young people.
The role involves conducting face-to-face educational psychology assessments, producing high-quality written advice within agreed timescales, and contributing to the delivery of effective services that support the boroughs children, families, and schools.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Complete statutory educational psychology assessments to a high professional standard.
Deliver clear, comprehensive, and evidence-based advice and reports within given deadlines.
Work directly with children, young people, families, and education settings to identify needs and promote inclusion.
Apply psychological theory, research, and practice to inform recommendations and interventions.
Communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders including schools, social care, health professionals, and parents/carers.
Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with professional and council standards.
Adhere to Tower Hamlets professional conduct, safeguarding, and equality policies.
Skills/Experience:
Proven ability to deliver high-quality statutory advice and reports.
Strong knowledge of psychological theory, assessment tools, and current research.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage workload, prioritise effectively, and meet statutory deadlines.
Experience working within a local authority or educational setting (desirable).
