Clinical Nurse Specialist – Children’s Burns and Plastics
Be part of the Nottingham Children’s Burns and Plastics Unit, providing high‑quality care to children who have suffered acute burns and plastics injuries. The role is hospital‑based with responsibilities across inpatient and outpatient settings and includes liaising with families at home.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic registered children’s nurse to lead the burns and plastics specialist team. The successful candidate will deliver expert clinical care, support and develop other staff, and drive continuous improvement within the unit.
Responsibilities
* Lead the burns and plastics nurse specialists and provide outstanding clinical care to children and young people.
* Attend inpatient and outpatient services and act as a key liaison with families and multidisciplinary teams.
* Teach and support multi‑professional staff, both within the hospital and the wider community.
* Organise and prioritise a complex caseload of children and young people with burns and plastics injuries.
* Implement change and innovation to improve service quality and patient outcomes.
* Participate in safeguarding case management and provide specialised advice on burn and plastics care.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in paediatric burns and plastics.
* Accredited burns and plastics module or willingness to complete it within the first year.
* Recognised mentorship and teaching qualifications.
* Formal leadership or management training or relevant experience.
* Experience with complex safeguarding cases.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to supervise and mentor staff.
* UK professional registration.
Salary & Contract
Band 7 – £47,810 to £54,710 per annum
Contract – Permanent, Part‑time
