Role Overview
To provide professional and effective service which encompasses stores, handyman and porterage duties within the site operational teams, ensuring its efficient and smooth operation.
What You’ll Do
* Monitor security systems and perform general administration
* Carry out administrative duties for facilities including collation of waste figures, processing payments to subcontractors, and taking minutes of meetings between contractors
* Manage day-to-day inventory and stock control; control all stock from goods inwards to despatch; maintain stock levels
* Source material and tooling for related technical jobs
* Process orders and deliver spare parts, components and lab equipment; distribute parts to technicians
* Load and unload deliveries; source, develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
* Adhere to EFS and client processes for laboratory conditions; contribute to smooth running of laboratories through various procedures
* Ensure maximum stock levels; reduce downtime due to lack of stock
* Perform interior and exterior painting as directed; repair damage to walls, wallpaper and small cracks
* Carry out ad-hoc maintenance tasks; ensure minimal client disruption while work is carried out
* Assess porterage tasks and complete relevant H&S risk assessments; brief staff accordingly
* Sort, deliver and collect post; move office furniture and equipment with safe manual handling and method statements
* Move stores and equipment per client access permits and procedures; reconfigure meeting and conference room furniture as directed
* Carry out porterage help desk tasks; perform PPM and reactive tasks
* Carry out minor mechanical and handyman tasks; provide assistance to third parties as required
* Take instruction from Site Supervisor, Contracts Manager and Client; expect potential work at other sites and overtime as needed
Who You’ll Be
* Previous stores experience is ideal
* Full driving licence
* Technical expertise or qualifications in a craft skill or engineering discipline
* Knowledge of operational procedures (timesheets, PM systems, Quality, Health & Safety)
* Front-facing customer service experience
* Strong administrative experience
* Good telephone manner and IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; understanding of a SMMS maintenance system)
* Well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
