EMHP/CWP Low Intensity Supervisor
This development post is an opportunity to become involved with Mental Health and Social Care Team (MHST) to deliver timely and evidence‑based help to children, young people and their families within the school setting. Postholders begin the training on Band 5 and, once qualified, progress to the Band 6 role.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise clinical staff, supporting their professional development through individual and group supervision, reflective practice, and clinical skills sessions.
- Provide formal and informal education, training and supervision to team members and other disciplines.
- Work therapeutically with children and their families, delivering evidence‑based interventions and supporting emotional wellbeing in an educational setting.
- Manage the team caseload, overseeing referrals, allocation of clients, and maintaining a clinical role and/or caseload.
- Establish and maintain team systems and processes, including outcome measurement, audit and annual service policy review.
- Lead full assessments of care needs and risk assessment for staff under your supervision.
Qualifications & Training
- Successful completion of a HEE‑funded PGDip CWP or EMHP with significant post‑qualifying experience.
- Current professional registration (BPS or BABCP).
Experience
- Minimum of two years post‑qualifying / registration experience in mental health care including assessment and risk assessment.
- Experience of using therapeutic interventions within mental health settings (1:1, counselling, family therapy and group work).
- Experience of assessing, planning, coordinating and managing CYP with mental health problems in a community setting.
- Experience of working in or closely with education settings.
- Experience in supervising EMHPs/CWPs.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Skilled in assessment of clinical risk and developing and communicating appropriate risk management plans.
- Skills in assessing, planning and evaluating care for CYP with mental health needs.
- Responsibility for supporting and/or supervising trainee EMHPs/CWPs or other clinical staff.

Salary
£32,073 to £48,117 a year – developmental post commencing at Band 5.
