About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges, delivering a tailored curriculum that supports both academic progress and emotional development. You’ll create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of SEMH learners.
* Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
* Work closely with pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external agencies to support individual learning plans.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies to ensure success.
* Promote positive behaviour and implement effective behaviour management strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in mainstream or specialist settings).
* A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
* Strong classroom management and communication skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
