Role: Subsidy Officer REF 1696585 Contract Length: Until 14/09/26 Location: Hybrid/Northampton – part remote IR35: Inside Pay Rate to Intermediary: £32 per hour Spinwell is recruiting for a Subsidy Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUBSIDY OFFICER To ensure that benefit claims are being assessed accurately and paid correctly and in line with legislation and guidance. To assist in the completion of the Housing Benefit subsidy returns and claims including working with auditors To ensure that the subsidy position improves and income to the Council is maximised. To support the Training and Resilience team by identifying development needs of officers through Subsidy checking. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SUBSIDY OFFICER Educated to GCSE level including Maths and English Experience of working in a Revenues & Benefits environment Demonstrate the ability to take on board and understand complex legislation Experience of using ICT ICT skills including PC, Microsoft office Communicating and Influencing – Strong communication and negotiation skills and ability to communicate with all customers, partners, ability to make difficult decisions showing tact and diplomacy Analytical Thinking - Shows the ability to gather information in order to understand issues.
