ROLE PROFILE
Group Procurement manages third‑party supplier engagements, partnering with the business to drive high performance and sustainable value from supplier relationships. The role supports the Category Lead and Category Managers to deliver the category strategy, deploy the supplier relationship management (SRM) programme, resolve quality issues, and monitor the PR/PO pipeline. It reports to the Category Director for Technology Services within the Services tower.
* Supplier spend c £2 BN and ~5 000 suppliers
* Team structure: three towers (Technology, Services, Corporate) and a Strategy & Performance centre
* Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team responsible for risk operationalisation
* Supplier Relationship Management team overseeing strategic partnership and SRM framework
* Key hubs in London, Bangalore and New York with decentralised support in other global markets
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the delivery of the category strategy and the deployment of the SRM programme
* Develop sourcing strategies, identify risks and key outputs
* Lead sourcing and negotiation for low to medium spend SOWs; analyse financial and commercial structure; engage Legal and finance as needed
* Ensure renewal and accuracy of SOWs, and timely raise of purchase requests
* Support Category Leads/Managers with SRM activities and manage allocated supplier relationships
* Maintain the PR/PO pipeline for the assigned category of spend
* Review project pipelines, PR/PO approvals and Fieldglass approvals; liaise with Category Lead and managers
* Ensure purchase requests meet required standards: approval process, signed contract/statement of work, proper onboarding and approval
* Keep Category Managers and business contacts updated on sourcing project status
* Research market and industry developments; recommend alternate sources of supply
* Engage regularly with key business partners (Legal, Finance, HR) and support procurement queries
* Maintain procurement data in systems (pipeline management, savings tracker, supplier and contract databases, spend metrics)
* Assess benefits of new sourcing solutions and support procurement system design and implementation
* Ensure relevant contracts are in place; monitor performance and identify corrective actions
* Provide end‑to‑end sourcing support: review purchase orders, facilitate exceptions, ensure timely delivery, and promote continuous improvement
CANDIDATE PROFILE
ESSENTIAL
* Good experience in buying / procurement (IT Professional Services such as developers, testers, system implementors, business analysts, etc.)
* Commercially minded and proficient negotiator
* Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to build positive supplier relationships
* Experience in market and category analysis
* Ability to assess, prioritise workload and meet agreed target dates
* Strong IT skills (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook; procurement systems desirable: Ariba, Fieldglass)
* Ability to provide management information to aid sourcing and contract management
* Proven track record of building relationships, influencing and acting as an authority to senior management
* General analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
* Pro‑active, initiative‑driven work ethic to deliver activities on time, budget and quality
* Maximise opportunities, challenge ways of working, adopt Group practices, seek and provide clarification
* Teamwork: able to work with local and off‑shore category teams
* Educated to degree level
DESIRABLE
* Procurement / supply operation qualification (e.g., MCIPS, IAACM) or working toward it
* Knowledge of Agile SOW construction, SLAs and outcome‑based contracting
* Experience working with suppliers such as EPAM, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Synechron, DXC
* Previous experience in FinTechs or global, multi‑country organisations
* Some experience in e‑sourcing & e‑auctions
