Job Description
We are looking for a confident, client-facing HSEQ professional who will lead the development, review and maintenance of Occupational HSEQ management systems.
You will work closely with operational managers to create and sustain a safe working environment across Hard FM service delivery in Central and Northern England and Wales.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct regular, unannounced site audits and inspections to verify compliance with RAMS and safe systems of work, producing detailed reports and tracking corrective actions to closure
2. Support the production and review of risk assessments, method statements and toolbox talks, advising on hazard identification and proportionate control measures
3. Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis, including completion of RIDDOR notifications and internal reporting
4. Develop and deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and formal training sessions such as asbestos awareness, manual handling and PPE use
5. Review, maintain and develop H&S policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and industry best practice
6. Act as the principal H&S advisor to Hard FM Key Account Directors, Key Account Managers and Site Managers, and as the H&S link with GPA, clients, KAN and subcontractors
7. Manage the appointment and training of Responsible Persons (RPs) for high-risk activities including Work at Height, Hot Works and isolation of fire and life safety systems
8. Develop and monitor H&S KPIs and dashboards, identify systemic issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the business
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
9. Strong HSEQ background
10. Diploma-level Health & Safety qualification
11. Experience within the FM industry
12. Hard services FM experience desirable but not essential
13. Strategic thinker able to influence positive development in Hard FM delivery
14. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
15. Confident and professional when engaging with clients and stakeholders
16. Willingness to travel regionally (by car or train)
