About us
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishops Stortford and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping. We employ 4,000 people and serve a local population of around 350,000, with an extended catchment up to 500,000 including Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Broxbourne.
Job responsibilities
As an active Board member and inspirational leader, you will be instrumental in delivering the People Strategy and supporting strategic planning, policymaking and organisational objectives. You will lead people and organisational development functions, ensuring a high-quality working environment, embedding trust values and maintaining a fully engaged, highly skilled workforce. You will oversee all aspects of education, learning and development activities, including talent management, leadership development and staff development programmes, and develop innovative recruitment strategies and pipelines drawing on diverse local communities. You will play a major role in further developing the new Essex Integrated Care System, working with workforce directors in other NHS, community and social care institutions.
Qualifications
* Educated to a masters degree, equivalent post‑graduate qualification, or evidence of working at that level
* Membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development or equivalent
* Evidence of on‑going personal and professional development
* Formal training or qualification in management and/or leadership
Experience
* Experience of operating in a workforce leadership role at or near Board level in a complex environment
* Evidence of success in implementing workforce transformation within a complex multi‑disciplinary organisation, including service and workforce redesign
* Leadership experience within the People function including the development and implementation of sound workforce and employee relations strategies, policies and procedures
