Position Details
Base: GGC - Clyde, covering Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) and Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH)
This is a fixed-term post for 12 months, offering 10 Programmed Activities (PAs). The role involves coverage at two Clyde Hospitals, RAH and IRH, with additional responsibilities linked to the Alan Lyell Centre for Dermatology in Glasgow. The post may require working at other locations as directed by the Clinical Service Lead.
Service Context
Adult dermatology services in GGC are managed by the dermatology directorate, operating on a hub-and-spoke model. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital serves as the regional centre for specialized and tertiary dermatology services for approximately 1.5 million people in the West of Scotland.
Local services are provided across eight hospital sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, and others, offering outpatient dermatology services through a multidisciplinary team of consultants, specialty doctors, GP assistants, and nurses. The QEUH hosts subspecialty clinics.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will join a team of dermatologists with interests in areas such as skin cancer, surgery, psoriasis, genodermatoses, pediatric dermatology, and more. Applicants should have GMC registration, a license to practice, MRCP or equivalent, and be eligible for the Specialist Register. UK-trained applicants should provide evidence of higher specialist training in Dermatology leading to CCT or CESR, or be within six months of entry. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
