Important information, please read before completing application The work Royal Mail Same Day offers is not regular guaranteed work, but rather it is adhoc work, offered as and when we have work available, meaning you could come on our books and be offered little to no work near you. Most of our drivers therefore treat us as a potential source for back loads or additional work during quiet periods with their regular work. We are a direct and dedicated service so you cannot have other items onboard when carrying out our work and we pay for the miles in the job (collection to delivery only). If you are interested in applying for this role and meet all the criteria as detailed below then please complete the questions to start the application process: - You must be based in the UK mainland (not Northern Ireland). - You must own/rent a van that can hold a minimum of 1 standard pallet, has rear barn style opening doors and be in good condition (your application can be rejected if your van is not in good condition as you are the face of our business and therefore need to make a good impression). - You must have all the necessary insurances in place (Vehicle Insurance covering you for “the carriage of goods for hire and reward”, Goods in Transit Insurance for £10,000 & Public Liability Insurance for £2 million). Please note all insurances must be in your name or your company/trading name, you cannot just be a named driver on someone else's insurance. - You must have a current (basic) DBS certificate dated in the last 6 months that shows your current home address details. Please ensure you have the DBS certificate in your possession before applying as you only have 7 days to complete the application before it automatically closes and the DBS certificates can take longer than this to arrive. We aim to check your completed application within 21 working days (Mon-Fri, excluding bank holidays) but reserve the right to take longer than this when we have a high volume of applications and/or staff absence. As small vans get approximately 75-80% of our work load we reserve the right to go through periods where we will concentrate on recruiting only small vans.
