Location: This position is full-time on-site in Dover, NH. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).
R&D Electrical Automation Engineer III - Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Be a key technical member of the project team, developing custom automation solutions for complex challenges.
* Design, program, simulate, and test automated machinery to streamline manufacturing processes, considering workflow, layout, and safety.
* Lead the design, programming, and integration of electrical automation systems.
* Evaluate and implement new methods or technologies for continual improvement.
* Manage equipment procurement projects, interfacing with vendors, developing specifications, and reviewing protocols.
* Create and revise manufacturing documents, SOPs, safety instructions, validation protocols, and risk assessments.
* Ensure compliance with international and local standards for design, process, and safety.
* Develop project timelines, scope, plans, and cost estimates, and communicate progress.
* Lead experiments, validation, testing, and data analysis.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
* Troubleshoot complex automation issues and implement solutions.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by the Research & Development Team Leader.
Qualification Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field; Electrical or Software engineering preferred.
* At least 6 years of product/process development experience.
* Background in automation control systems, including PLC, HMI, motion control, vision systems, robots, etc.
* Experience with engineering systems, analysis methods, and tools; familiarity with SolidWorks, GXWorks, and C-More is a plus.
* Strong statistical analysis and experimental design skills.
* Experience with risk analysis using FMEA and design reviews.
* Proficient in electrical panel layout and building.
* Experience with documentation systems, change management, and ISO standards.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.
* Willing to travel (<5%).
