These roles represent a fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of the transformation within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and UNESCO World Heritage Spa, around Britain’s only thermal springs, within an area of outstanding natural beauty.
You’ll be joining at a time when Bath and North East Somerset Council (B&NES) is undertaking a period of significant capital investment across a range of challenging projects throughout our unique and diverse property and asset portfolio.
The Capital Construction Programme is shaping the long‑term sustainability of housing, public spaces, social, historic, environmental and economic landscape of the area, as well as facilitating income‑generating initiatives.
We are seeking experienced Senior Project Managers with a proven track record in delivering a diverse programme of major or technically complex construction projects from feasibility and technical design through to construction and end‑user handover. Candidates will require a strong technical knowledge of design, contract management, planning and technical construction‑based project management to join our award‑winning multi‑disciplinary team.
About the Team
You will be joining a friendly, experienced and supportive Programme and Construction Project Management Team that works across a diverse portfolio of projects from Highways (Public Realm), Corporate and Commercial Estates, Housing and Compliance Maintenance with a combined project value in excess of £200m. This includes the retrofit of many of our 1,100 properties as well as the delivery of sustainable transport, neighbourhoods, public realm and new build projects to achieve net‑zero by 2030.
Working as part of the wider Sustainable Communities team, which also has responsibility for Planning, Heritage Services, Housing, Transport Strategy, Public Realm and Corporate Estate, you will need to be a team player with excellent stakeholder and relevant design and construction project management skills.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of major or technically complex construction projects from feasibility and technical design through to construction and handover.
* Manage contracts, design, planning and technical aspects of projects.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder relationships.
* Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
Qualifications
* Proven track record delivering major or technically complex construction programmes.
* Strong technical knowledge of design, contract management, planning and technical construction project management.
* Experience in capital construction projects and programme delivery.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
