You’ll help develop or maintain the safety cases that ensure safe operations, drive innovation, and support Britain’s journey to net zero.You’ll join us on a salary starting from £60,000 per annum. Located at #Gloucester Business Park 2–3 days a week, we’re happy to discuss flexibility.Whether you’re supporting the development of a modern safety case for the UK’s first new-build nuclear power station in decades, or helping optimise and extend the life of our existing fleet, you’ll be part of a team making a real impact. You’ll gain exposure to reactor and fuel route safety cases, defueling challenges, and contribute to the UK’s energy and environmental ambitions.Who You AreWe’re looking for a Safety Case Engineer who thrives in dynamic, high-profile environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. Do you offer…Strong experience writing, evaluating or reviewing nuclear safety casesA solid technical understanding of safety case principles and applicationsThe ability to work across disciplines and communicate clearly and conciselyExperience in reactor or fuel route safety case areas, including hazards, structural integrity or mechanical plantA minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a similar technical disciplineTo be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.What You’ll Be DoingDeveloping and maintaining safety cases for new-build or operational nuclear sitesProviding technical leadership to resolve safety-related challengesCollaborating with internal teams, OEM designers, suppliers and regulatorsSupporting construction, commissioning or defueling phasesEnsuring compliance within a regulated environmentPay, Benefits and CultureAlongside a starting salary of at least £60,000 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days and more.At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed.
