JR PAT Testing is rapidly growing across the UK and is looking for experienced PAT Engineers to join our team. We welcome self‑employed professionals, as well as those interested in becoming self‑employed.
All engineers must hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent, maintain their own insurance, and keep their equipment calibrated at least once a year.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on a variety of sites such as hospitals, retail outlets, and offices.
* Use test instruments to ensure appliances (microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.) are safe for use.
* Record findings in a PAT test report, and provide completion certificates to clients.
* Inform users of test results and explain any appliances that may be unfit for use.
* Travel to client sites, manage time efficiently, and work independently or as part of a team.
* Maintain all testing equipment in good working order and ensure it meets regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
* City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent required.
* Proven competence in PAT testing as per industry standards.
* Reliable, honest, and possessing a proactive "can‑do" attitude.
* Experience with record‑keeping and completion of test certificates.
Employment Type
Self‑employed contract; flexible hours. Part‑time or full‑time options available.
Location
Ruislip, with a requirement that candidates live within a reasonable commuting distance of Ruislip or be willing to travel nationally.
Compensation
Payments are pro‑rate based on the rate per appliance, the number of tests, and job dynamics. Details are discussed during the booking of a job.
