Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Full Time, Temporary
York | £90–£110 per day (depending on experience) | Full-time, term-time only (temporary)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in York. This is a full-time temporary role, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a range of ages and abilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to ensure that pupils receive the support they need to achieve their potential, both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
Assist in implementing individual education and care plans.
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and physical development.
Help with personal care needs where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, the SENCo, and parents/carers.
Person Specification
Experience supporting children, ideally those with SEND.
Understanding of, or willingness to support, pupils with complex needs and personal care requirements.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education.
Relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
