We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committedreceptionist to join our friendly team. The post is for part time.Monday-Friday 30 hours a week. Hours to be worked between the hours of08.00am-18.30pm (Flexible with hours - Happy to discuss and accomodate the right candidate) We are ideally looking for someone with excellentinterpersonal skills and experience with dealing with the general public.Delivering high quality services is essential.
Duties will include general assistance to the practice team,answering the telephone, care navigation, sign posting patients to the mostappropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient andeffective way. Dealing with patient enquiries both over the telephone and onthe front desk. Computer literacy is essential and full training will be givenas appropriate.
Rate of pay is to be discussed and will be offeredmembership of the NHS pension scheme.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks which will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
* Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requests appropriately.
* Signpost patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Taking messages and passing information on
* Dealing with prescription queries in accordance with Practice Guidelines.
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
* Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter.
* Input data into the patient's healthcare records as necessary.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.

St David's Clinic is a supportive, forward-thinkingteaching/training practice involved in research, and a friendlymulti-disciplinary team of other dedicated and highly skilled healthcareprofessionals comprising of 13 GP's, 2 nurses, 4 HCA's, 2 Advanced ClinicalPractitioner's, 1 Physician Associate, 1 pharmacist technician, 1physiotherapist, and 2 onsite Pharmacists.
Job responsibilities
Offer general assistance to the practice team and project apositive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person orvia the telephone.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing theappropriate service of healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient andeffective way.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist inthe smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial andclerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, membersof the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcareagencies.
You will be working between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm.Shifts to be agreed. There will be a need to work over our branch sites, TheGaer Medical Centre and St Brides Medical Centre.
