About the Role
This is a new role within the People & Culture Specialist Services team, created to bring control and commercial rigour to how the college manages its contingent workforce. The college currently spends in excess of £775,000 per year on agency staff, overtime, and casual work. The Workforce and Resourcing Lead will address the structural causes of that spend by building and managing the College’s Talent Bank, operating the spend approval gateway, and leading the development and management of the college’s Preferred Supplier List for agency services.
Responsibilities
* Build and manage the College’s Talent Bank.
* Operate the spend approval gateway for agency staff and casual work.
* Develop and manage the college’s Preferred Supplier List for agency services.
* Address structural causes of excess spend on the contingent workforce.
* Negotiate with agencies and challenge managers when spend falls outside approved parameters.
Qualifications
* Resourcing or recruitment experience, including outside the FE sector.
* Understanding of how agencies work.
* Strong negotiation skills and confidence to challenge managers.
* Must complete required pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
* For roles involving direct interaction with learners, registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is mandatory.
