Please note, this role is based out of our Manchester Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the Manchester SSC 2 days per week on average. As a Finance Associate - Credit Control you will ensure that aged debt is at a minimum through proactive chasing and ensuring reporting and analysis of this data is accurate and shared across the team/business. You will reconcile balance sheets and raise journals, as well as having a proactive approach to process improvements and automation of procedures. More about the role Proactively investigate and chase debt across a wide-ranging ledger using various systems to ensure team KPI's are met Build relationships with all internal and external Stakeholders Escalate queries and problem accounts as necessary and engage with various stakeholders to ensure resolution Aged Debt report updated with Notes to ensure accurate cash collection Support delivery of audit deliverables and internal controls management Ensure you have a good understanding of all tasks across the team for absence and holiday cover Support process efficiency improvements, working with Sainsbury's Business Services (SBS) and Offshore team to deliver change Ensure process maps and guides are up to date and new ones implemented where required Identify and make process improvements to ensure that any risk element is identified and eliminated at source Identify areas for development and use own initiative to drive change More about you Good knowledge of Basic accounting Intermediate Excel and use of other Microsoft packages Numerate and well organised Strong Communication skills Credit Control or Accounts Payable experience is desirable Basic accounting knowledge of invoice, credit notes, debit notes and VAT is desirable We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you'll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work.
