We are looking for a proactive and people focused Retail & Community Hub Assistant Manager to support the management of our unique Donation Centre and Community Hub. This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to develop both the retail performance and the community engagement.
Our Donation Centre operates as a retail store, offering a wide range of donated goods alongside a selection of bought‑in products. In partnership with the Community Hub we create a friendly and accessible environment where members of the community can access information about a range of support services and find out more about our regular community events.
Job Description
You will be responsible for:
* Support with the delivery of the annual hub activity plan and achievement of the hub yearly income target.
* Assist with the delivery of events/workshops held in the hub/store, working with the Retail & Community Hub manager and other members of the store team to maximise opportunities and generate additional income.
* Introduce donation asks such as gift aid, regular giving, legacies, etc.
* Process donated stock to the agreed standards, volumes and timescales, ensuring it is priced according to Charity guidelines.
* Through great visual merchandising, support in ensuring strong commercial feature displays and windows to drive sales and footfall.
* Deal with customers and donors on all levels, ensuring that excellent customer service is provided at all times.
* Assist with the store’s eBay (and any other marketplace) operation, ensuring it is managed effectively, maximising income while following all required processes and procedures.
Key Criteria:
* Retail supervisory / management experience preferably in fashion / clothing.
* Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
* Ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service and to interact professionally with all members of the public.
* Ability to build strong relationships with local residents, community groups, businesses and other charities.
In this role you will have sole responsibility for the running of the store, which will involve lone working. Due to this, we are unable to recruit anyone for this role who is under the age of 18.
