PARTNERSHIP TEACHING
‘Chrysalis’ is our Partnership Teaching programme, involving engagement with over 35 schools in Haringey, Camden, and Islington, mainly in STEM subjects at Key Stages 2-5. Our goal is to inspire capable pupils in maintained schools to pursue these subjects at all levels, culminating in university entrance. For more details, see below.
Twenty teachers from Highgate have timetabled allocations ranging from 4 to 24 periods per fortnight. Additionally, four full-time teachers work on Chrysalis projects, providing curriculum support, enrichment, and some direct teaching.
Other teachers in Design and Technology, Biology, Classics, Drama, Music, and Sport and Exercise participate without scheduled hours.
Since 2017, Highgate has supported LAET, an academically selective sixth form, which has received recognition for its impact on attainment. The school offers rigorous A Levels, with many students progressing to top universities.
Highgate’s partnership work aims to expand opportunities for London’s youth to access higher education and prestigious careers. The ‘Chrysalis East’ programme extends this work to other schools in the community, following the success of the Stratford sister school.
The community partnerships department reflects Highgate School’s commitment to the wider community, contributing to the vibrancy of the school and beyond.
