Bluebell Ward is a /7 inpatient service supporting older adults from Derbyshire living with functional mental illness—and we're searching for a caring, committed Nursing Assistant to join our team.
As a valued member of the team, you will deliver high standards of person -centred care showing empathy, patience and understanding at all times.
We work as part of a multi- disciplinary team, and you will work within the Trust Core Care Standards and always promoting independence, recovery, and service user dignity. You would be an active and supportive member of the team.
As a Nursing Assistant you will be actively involved in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of qualified nurses and be accountable for the reporting of the care you give to qualified nursing staff.
We offer ongoing training and development, clinical supervision & managerial supervision, an annual appraisal.
Main duties of the job
As a Nursing Assistant you will be completing daily duties including:
3. Providing care and support for patients who are acutely mentally unwell
4. Spending 1:1 time with patients
5. Escorting patients off the ward
6. Completing levels of observations with patients
7. Engaging patients in therapeutic activities
8. Completing physical observations and general physical check
9. Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to make changes inpatients' care
10. Supporting patients with their ADLs
11. Managing difficult situations
12. Providing support to other wards across the unit
13. Responding to patients when they are distressed

14. NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or Care Certificate
15. GCSE English

16. Previous experience in older peoples care
17. previous experience in mental health

18. Communication skills - written and verbal - to be assessed via application form and at interview
19. Recent, relevant experience of working within mental health.
