Salary: £32,938 - £40,725

Hours: 37 hours / 52 weeks per year
Overview
At Kirklees College, we nurture and develop the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others. The Lecturer in Maths role is based at one of our Huddersfield sites and will deliver curriculum using a range of digital resources to provide students with a high‑quality, relevant learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching students at any of the colleges’ centres.
* Designing syllabuses, schemes of work and maintaining course records, including an induction programme.
* Maintaining class registers and managing enrolment and registration records.
* Ensuring each learner completes an Initial Assessment, Induction and an Individual Learning Plan.
* Monitoring and assessing students per programme requirements and contributing to the Quality Improvement Strategy, including Internal/External Verification.
* Providing effective learning support to course participants.
* Co‑ordinating courses and implementing quality‑improvement strategies.
* Contributing to curriculum development, design and delivery in response to changing needs.
* Ensuring courses comply with Awarding Body requirements.
* Implementing the Student Positive Behaviour Policy in line with College guidelines.
* Conducting student interviews, attending Open Days/Evening Events, and managing admissions/enrolment alongside Admissions staff.
* Collaborating with the Head of Faculty, Curriculum Area Manager and course team to provide management information and complete administration procedures.
* Setting and monitoring targets for enrolment, attendance, punctuality, retention and achievement, reporting as required.
* Developing and managing innovative use of course materials and resources.
* Attending and contributing to area meetings and liaising on course matters.
* Embedding safeguarding and escalating concerns per the College’s safeguarding policy.
* Embedding Health and Safety best practices and ensuring a safe working environment per the Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Acting as a champion for Equality and Diversity across the College.
* Behaving in line with British values.
* Engaging in continuous professional development and regular performance reviews.
* Performing any other duties commensurate with the role.

Qualifications & Experience
* Suitable A’Level maths qualification, or a related Degree and PGCE (or equivalent ability proven).
* Demonstrable experience in Teaching Learning and Assessment (TLA).
* Good communication skills, ability to engage with young people, and alignment with College values of Kindness, Unity, and Excellence.
