Teaching Assistant role at Suffolk Jobs Direct for Sir Bobby Robson School, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9FA. Salary: Actual per annum £19,920 - £20,556 (£25,185 - £25,989 pro rata). Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Contract: Permanent. Required from October 2025. Reference: 7794.
We are a specialist SEMH school for pupils aged 8 – 16 and we are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. Our pupils have huge potential and with the right support they thrive. You will play a vital part in the classroom and the wider school community.
Responsibilities
* Support learners in lessons – work with teachers to help pupils access the curriculum in whole-class settings, small groups or one-to-one.
* Deliver targeted interventions – focusing on literacy, numeracy and wider SEND/SEMH programmes to help pupils make progress.
* Promote social and emotional development – help pupils manage their feelings, build resilience and develop positive relationships.
* Encourage participation in a broad curriculum – support lessons in sport, art, music, vocational and outdoor learning.
* Contribute to enrichment activities – join pupils in activities beyond the classroom to build confidence, independence and achievement.
* Be a role model daily – show patience, consistency and positivity to help pupils make good choices and use strategies to manage emotions.
