Overview
Volunteer Social Media – Help give migrants a voice at The Prisma - The Multicultural Newspaper. Join The Prisma volunteer team and use your creativity and commitment to boost our social media and support our bilingual, independent newspaper for immigrants in the UK.
What difference will you make?
In a time when reliable, specialised media is vital, volunteers will help secure the future of The Prisma, a bilingual and independent newspaper, combat false narratives about immigrants, connect British society with the immigrant community, recover archival material, undertake investigative reporting, highlight injustices, celebrate positive achievements, share real stories, and promote immigrant campaigns and independent journalism. Your support will help ensure that after 15 years of voluntary service, volunteer contributions are recognised and appreciated.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for dedicated, creative and committed individuals who are passionate about social media, digital campaigning, and supporting independent journalism. Ideal volunteers will have hands-on experience managing social media accounts, crafting posts in English and Spanish, and engaging audiences across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and possibly Bluesky. You should be able to adapt content with creativity and help shape how the campaign reaches and inspires a wider audience. Fluency in English is welcome, and Spanish speakers are particularly encouraged to apply. We seek individuals with creativity, integrity, commitment, and a genuine desire to make a difference through media that matters. By joining, volunteers gain practical experience, professional recognition, and the chance to be part of a committed team driving change and safeguarding immigrant voices in the UK.
What will you be doing?
This role requires initiative, flexibility, and teamwork. Volunteers will collaborate with the campaign team to design posts, schedule content, monitor engagement, and report on results. Their input will amplify the campaign’s message, raise awareness about immigrant issues, combat misinformation, and promote independent, investigative journalism. Volunteers should be motivated by impact, not just tasks. Contributions will highlight real stories, document achievements, denounce injustices, recover archival material, and support campaigns that defend immigrants’ rights and foster understanding between communities. You will be part of a historic effort to ensure that the work of volunteers is recognised in a meaningful way after 15 years.
