Senior Support Worker - Residential Family Centre

We are hiring for a Senior Support Worker to join Maple House Family Centre, which supports up to 6 families at any one time in a 12-week, monitored stay with 24/7 support to encourage sustainable positive parenting changes.
Responsibilities
* Keep children, families and vulnerable adults safe by supporting the Team Leader in managing safeguarding issues and ensuring safe working practices in line with regulatory standards and Fair Ways policies.
* Contribute to formal parenting assessments with colleagues, ensuring quality, fairness, robustness, and evidence-based approaches; monitor family impact and risk assessments while in placement to meet safety and support needs.
* Support effective leadership: assist with handovers, shift planning, and provide oversight of shifts when required to ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and the Family Centre runs smoothly.
* Model trauma-informed practice and provide therapeutic support as part of creating a clean, tidy, homely environment; support families during crises and educate parents on healthy practices for child development.
* Line management and supervision: supervise a small number of direct reports, provide reflective supervision, monitor training and development, and maintain safe, respectful relationships with parents and children.
* Uphold professional boundaries by observing and monitoring health and wellbeing of parents and children within the centre.
Requirements
* Full driving license and access to a car.
* Enhanced Disclosure (DBS) required; cost covered by Fair Ways.
* Required qualifications and experience: minimum level 3 NVQ in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent, with knowledge of child protection, looked after children, family court care proceedings, safeguarding adults, and the ability to manage workload and work as part of a team.
