Role purpose To oversee the day-to-day operations and security of the site and supervise the site operatives. Responsibilities To ensure the site operations are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner. To ensure the site drop-off/loading areas are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. To operate all loading/unloading plant and machinery as required. To supervise the loading/unloading of materials. To ensure delivery/collection drivers and operatives comply with site safety rules. To ensure the company Health & Safety Policy is complied with. To ensure the company Environmental Policy is complied with. To complete and issue skip delivery/collection tickets as required. To ensure all plant and machinery employed in the operation of the site is maintained to ensure the minimum of downtime. COTC cover to maintain standards and compliance for operations Manage relationships with contractors, authorities and Environment agency as required. The collection of operational data and management there of in requirements with permit. Manage and ensure best operations of the leachate management system supporting compliance of levels in accordance with permit requirements. To drive on-site vehicles as required. Use the performance review system to set annual objectives for direct reports. Review progress on objectives periodically. Perform annual review. Act as first line manager and people manager for site operatives. Organise work schedules to ensure appropriate staff numbers are available. Check and sign off time sheets. Ensuring that your responsibilities under the company’s Health & Safety Policy are complied with at all times. Ensuring that your responsibilities under the company’s Environmental Policy are complied with at all times. Any other duties which could be reasonably expected of you in accordance with the grading of the job. Qualifications Appropriate Certificate of Technical Competence Level 4 – WAMITAB scheme or equivalent. IoSH Managing Safely or equivalent. Skills Ability to use computer-based systems e.g., Microsoft Office. People management. Understand operation and maintenance requirements of mobile plant and machinery. Decision making within defined limits of authority. Experience Worked in the waste industry, operated mobile plant, operated computerised weighbridge.
