An established food manufacturing site in the Coventry area is seeking an experienced Hygiene Team Leader to support site hygiene operations and ensure the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and compliance across the factory.This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Hygiene Manager and wider site teams to deliver effective cleaning, sanitation, and audit readiness across all production and environmental areas.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support the hygiene team on shift, ensuring all cleaning activities are completed to a high standardOversee cleaning across production, packing, warehouse, high-care, welfare, yard, and external areasEnsure full compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH, GMP, and site proceduresConduct daily hygiene audits, record findings, and complete corrective actionsPlan daily and periodic cleaning schedules to meet operational and audit requirementsTrain and develop hygiene operatives through on-the-job coaching and demonstrationsComplete and audit all hygiene documentation, including chemical usage, titration testing, and stock controlSafely operate and train others on cleaning equipment (foaming units, scrubber dryers, steam cleaners, pressure washers, etc.)Identify and report equipment defects, missing guards, or site damageSupport labour planning, absence management, and holiday cover to maintain continuous hygiene coverWork cross-functionally with Production, Technical, Engineering, HR, and NPD teamsAct as a key contact during audits and customer visitsExperience & Skills Required2+ years’ experience in food manufacturing, ideally within hygiene or sanitationPrevious experience leading or supervising a team (team leader, supervisor, senior operative)Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and COSHHConfident completing audits, paperwork, and corrective actionsHands-on approach with the ability to work alongside the team on the factory floorComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with machinery, chemicals, and deadlinesGood written and verbal English skillsWhat’s on Offer£15.71 per hour (average £34,310.64 per annum)Stable, long-term opportunity within food manufacturingSupportive management and opportunities for developmentHigh-impact role with real ownership and responsibilityApply now if you have hygiene leadership experience within food manufacturing and are looking for your next step in the Coventry area.
