Job responsibilities You will be required, amongst other responsibilities, to carry out all laboratory analyses associated with the post, including reporting results, maintaining appropriate records and documentation; undertake specialised analytical work in designated areas of the department. Take delegated responsibility for the quality control, operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and to undertake quality control procedures, examine quality control results to identify poor performance and instigate appropriate action Take delegated responsibility for the supervision, training and coaching of staff as well as giving advice to colleagues and or clinicians regarding the appropriateness of samples or assays. Maintain standards of laboratory policies and procedures to ensure that the department meets external Quality Assurance and Accreditation standards. The department holds accreditation via UKAS for ISO 15189. Participate in the departments rosters as required and be prepared to work flexibly and undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required. Be aware of and adhere to Trusts policies, procedures and practices.
